The Australian property market is the most transparent in the world, according to a new report.
Professional services firm Jones Lang Lasalle's Global Real Estate Transparency Index 2010 has found that Australia has displaced Canada as the world's most transparent real estate market.
Each country was assessed on five criteria: performance measurement, market fundamentals, listed vehicles, legal and regulatory factors and transaction processes.
The report also showed that there has been a notable slowdown in the progress of real estate transparency over the last two years, due to the recent turmoil in global financial, economic and real estate markets.
It said the Asia Pacific region shows the most 'broadly-based' improvements over the last two years.
